Emulsifiable sterntube oil formulated to reduce outboard oil leakage

APPLICATION

  1. As a sterntube lubricant where elastomeric lip seals or other modern sealing systems are fitted and particularly where excessive outboard oil leakage is being experienced.
  2. Lubrication of the fin shafts of certain retractable stabilisers. Click here to request for further information.

SPECIAL PROPERTIES

  1. Forms emulsions with water. Both the oil and emulsions are sufficiently fluid to circulate and they both provide a high standard of lubrication and corrosion protection.
  2. The introduction of HYDROX 21 in most cases gives a considerable reduction in oil leakage in the event of damaged or misaligned sterntube seals. Reductions of 70% and more are normal in these circumstances.
  3. Suitable for use where Fluoroelastomers or Nitrile elastomeric materials are used for sterntube sealing.
  4. Compatible with most commercially available engine oils used for sterntube lubrication.
  5. Fully compatible with HYDROX 550 should a switch of oil be required to combat excessive oil loss.
