Emulsifiable gear oil for thrusters

APPLICATION

1. For combined gear and hydraulic lubrication of rotatable and tunnel thruster units.
2. For general use as a gear lubricant for equipment exposed to a wet environment, e.g. windlasses, winches and crude oil washing machinery.

SPECIAL PROPERTIES

1. HYDROX 8EP has the ability to absorb water which may contaminate the oil, forming a stable, fluid emulsion that continues to provide a high standard of corrosion protection and gear lubrication, therefore reducing the potential problems associated with water contamination into a thruster unit. However, the presence of any water in a thruster unit is still undesirable and in accordance with roller bearing manufacturers guidelines we recommend introducing fresh oil into a unit where water is present in the oil.
2. Contains the anti-corrosion, anti-oxidant and anti-foam additive packages required of oils for hydraulic applications.
3. Contains a highly effective extreme pressure (EP) additive package required for gear lubrication.
4. Suitable for use where Fluoroelastomers or Nitrile elastomeric materials are used for sealing.
