Principles of Hydrox
Stable Emulsions
HYDROX forms stable emulsions which continue to provide the required lubrication and corrosion protection. Conventional oils do not emulsify in the same way and tend to separate, exposing the shaft and bearings to free water.
Superior Lubrication
In the 4 Ball anti-wear test HYDROX is shown to be a better lubricant than a conventional system oil. The lubrication performance of HYDROX is substantially maintained even where large amounts of water are present. The lubrication provided by a conventional oil is of a very poor standard in the presence of water.

Cost Saving
By using HYDROX, owners and managers can avoid the costs and disruption to schedules caused by the need for unscheduled repairs and maintenance due to water ingress or outboard oil leakage.
Seal Compatibility
All the HYDROX grades are designed to be suitable for use with fluoroelastomers or nitrile materials used for sealing. They have been tested by leading sterntube seal manufacturers.
Details of specific approvals are available on request.
