Vickers was founded in 1828
Vickers was founded in 1828 since when it has continued to operate as an independent private company serving the textile industry. Peter Vickers, Managing Director, is the 5th generation of his family to lead the firm.
Originally supplying the woollen, cotton and silk industries in the U.K. and on the European continent, Vickers product range widened to incorporate the fast growing synthetic fibre industry. The Company is now truly global so that today customers on five continents are served.
